Lunch stop at Walmart in Pontiac...we went on to the small hamlet of Pontiac where we were met by the Mayor who gave a charming account of bygone days. I fell in love with a fully restored to its former glory 1957 Star Chief, I reckon all our bags will fit Kris!
The town of Pontiac was painted literally in wall art & not of our local suburban variety I gotta say. The wall art in Pontiac depicted its bygone era, I'll add pics to Facebook later tonight of it. Can't add pics on the go, only got one data card.
Lovely little town & the local folk were very interesting to chat to & very friendly. The local museum was fully of 50's & 60's artefacts, clearly the locals are very proud of their history.
Back on the bus now & the rock n' roll music has been cranked up....party is on!
We are making a run into Springfield now, old Tom says about 2 hrs for the head nodders. I'm think there might be some hard of hearing cause they are sleeping thru the music which is great! Good job Gordy!
You are prolly wondering what the average age on this here bus I reckon would be oh say 80.....all getting their kicks on route 66, good on em!
Almost in Springfield now, heading to President Lincoln's tomb, doubt well be drinking watermelon juice though.
We sure are out in the mid-west, the architecture changes rapidly.
