After the hotel debarkle was sort we got n doing what ya just have to do in NYC! I took off in one direction with Steve going in tuther, he had no interest in shopping. I literally hit the streets running, ya gotta do that in this city cause they swallow you up & spit you out if ya don't. Fastest pace city in the world I reckon & ain't no way I could live there, not a chance! It's true what they say NYC just never sleeps.....lots of seriously stressed to the max peeps in it too!
So off up 5th Ave, Park Ave & Madsion went I, down to Chelsea & the fashionista district. Love love love Macy's & Bloomingdales but Saks is a tad over rated with their handbag dg brigade....OMG it moved. There is something seriously wrong when you see a water bowl on the floor in the ladies loo....
Went into A & F with the intention of buying up a storm...all too overwhelming for moi. I must be getting old cause the fast pace just didn't cut the mustard.
Still managed to give the old plastic fantastic a hit but I have to be honest the shopping in NYC is not as good as the left coast, I actually think Sacramento has much better on offer.
Took in two shows....Anything Goes & How to Succeed....totally recommend both & we only a few days in the city that never stops we had so many shows to choose it was a tad difficult to make a decision. We were last in NYC 3 or 4 years ago when Wicked had top billing.....and it still does!
What did take me by surprise was the state of the city, it was quite filthy really & the condition of the roads were pretty much 4 X 4 material! Except of course for a select few streets that I am sure are funded by one said Trump. Many of the streets were worse than those in Bali!
New Yorkers really are very impatient people eh....gotta laugh!
Steve did a HOHO tour whilst I was shopping, as we'd been here before we had done all the touristy stuff previously but he did say that the new World Trade building was rather impressive.
The skyline of this city never ceases to amaze me, it is awesome to fly over.
For those of you thinking of going to New York, be prepared for the pace!
